Babiš is negotiating with the Germans about beds for the Karlovy Vary region, say the governors

“The Prime Minister told us that he is negotiating with foreign partners, or rather with neighboring states, for possible help if there are no beds in hospitals,” the governor of Olomouc, Ladislav Okleštěk (ANO), confirmed to Práva, adding that the situation is not currently affecting his region.

According to the Moravian-Silesian Governor Ivo Vondrák (YES), it was mainly about the Karlovy Vary region and cooperation with Germany.

“The prime minister said the government was negotiating. For example, cooperation with ambulances works with Poland, but otherwise I do not think that the country could help us, because the local health care system is bursting at the seams and the situation is worse than in our country, “said Vondrák.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Babiš also confirmed the information. “I negotiated with the Polish, Hungarian and Saxon prime ministers that if the situation in the Czech Republic required it, if they would have any capacity for our patients in their hospitals. I was informed that they would have some capacity, but I don’t want to say how many beds it would be. Rather, I want to hope that I will not need their help and that we will manage it on our own, “Babiš told Práva.
