Part of the provinces of Guadalajara, Zaragoza and Teruel have dawned this Wednesday with extreme risk warnings due to the low temperatures that the cold wave.
Specifically, they have been the areas of Parameras de Molina (Guadalajara), Albarracín (Teruel) and the regions of Calatayud and Campo de Daroca (Zaragoza) those that present, at the moment, a red alert according to the data offered by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
In addition, Soria, Albacete, Cuenca, Toledo and Madrid have passed from the red alert to the orange, with a significant risk situation. While in yellow alert are Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Seville, Huesca, Cantabria, Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Valladolid, Zamora, Ciudad Real, Barcelona, Lleida, Cáceres, Badajoz, Lugo, Orense, Pontevedra, Murcia, La Rioja and Valencia.
So far, according to the information collected by AEMET, the lowest minimum temperature of the day has been registered in Babia, in León, where the thermometers have reached -23.2 degrees. It is followed by Checa, in Guadalajara, with 21.8 degrees below zero and Torremocha del Jiloca, in Teruel, with -21.1 degrees.
This Tuesday we experienced the most complicated situation of the cold wave and some areas experienced the coldest night in the last 40 years. However, it seems that this situation begins to subside and as of this Thursday we will find a brief increase in temperatures.
The frosts that are freezing all the snow that the storm Filomena brought us, especially in the center of the peninsula, continue to worry a lot. A historic snowfall that has left some 17.3 million hectares of surface frozen.
