BABH did not find plague after inspections in 551 farms for sheep and goats-Agro Plovdiv – 2024-08-11 11:54:37

Checks of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BABH) in 551 livestock facilities found that the animals were clinically healthy. Increased inspections continue next week, until covering the entire herd, because of the outbreaks of plague on small ruminants in neighboring countries. In the past week, more than 11,000 small ruminants raised in 220 settlements were examined. The checks are carried out by the official veterinarians from the regional directorates of the BABH in connection with an order of the executive director of the Agency, issued due to established outbreaks of the plague of small ruminants in Romania and Greece.

We remind you that the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) accepts reports on the 24/7 phone number 0 700 122 99 about violations of the measures against the introduction of plague of small ruminants in Bulgaria. Complaints and reports on unregulated imports, movements and sales of live animals are accepted on the phone. As a matter of urgency, the reports will be checked by the competent authorities and sanctions will be imposed in case of violations.
