Interior Minister Lucian Bode’s doctoral thesis will be re-analysed by the Ethics Commission of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, UBB Rector Daniel David told Edupedu.ro. The announcement comes after Emilia Șercan published an analysis Thursday saying that the dignitary plagiarized at least 18.5% of the thesis, not just 2.95%as much as the ethics committee of the University of Cluj appreciated, at first sight.
UBB had stated last week, in response to a series of questions from Edupedu.rowhich can resume the analysis, if plagiarism is suspected.
When asked on Thursday morning if this will happen, given the analysis made separately by Emilia Șercan and published by pressure.roUBB Chancellor Daniel David said:
- “Yes, of course. As we said in our press release, if new suspects arise, they will be analyzed by the Ethics Commission. New suspects have appeared in the public space, the ethics committee will probably report back. If he doesn’t self-report, I will ask him to analyze it. But I think he will they will self-declare, as I said.”
