After only 6 weeks of preparation, the newly assembled B2 youth had to face their first challenge on Sunday with their coaching team Girts Lilienfeld and Sascha Heublein. After HC 03 Bamberg withdrew its registration for the qualifying tournament for ÜBOL, the remaining opponents were hosts TSV Hof 1861 and SG Schönwald/Hochfranken. They also had to play against each other first and SG Schönwald/Hochfranken was able to clearly win the game with 22:6.
Then the HSC was also allowed to intervene in the tournament and played in the first game against SG Schönwald/Hochfranken. The HSC started with a 3:0 run and consolidated this lead to 7:3 by half-time. In the second half, too, the HSC held the reins and won the game 16:10. The best pitcher in the first game was Aaron Schuster with 6 hits.
After a short breather, the game continued against the hosts TSV Hof 1861. The first few minutes were balanced before HSC played a safe 4:11 lead by half-time. In the end, a victory that was not in jeopardy was certain with 24:10. The best pitcher in the second game was Leonard Stern with 5 hits.
The numerous parents and fans who traveled support the players with drums and fanfares and were able to celebrate the tournament victory with the B2 youth with 4:0 points and 40:20 goals.
