The writer who insulted the movie ‘Manjummal Boys’ and the Malayalees B. Director B replied to Jayamohan. Unnikrishnan. “The revelation of hatred written about Manjummal Boys deserves no mercy. If drinking, cracking, hugging, dancing and banging these chumps drives you crazy, then you’re missing out Jayamohan. Unnikrishnan’s words. The director has come out against Jayamohan through Facebook. Unnikrishnan added that the film is about the love of man and tells the punishing gods and Jayamohans to go away.
“Dear Jayamohan, I have come to know that you have written about ‘Manjummal Boys’. As I don’t know how to read Tamil, I relied on a news item for the content of your post. Sorry if this post, written entirely on the back of this news, does injustice to your writing in Tamil. I am one of the thousands of Malayalis who see your writing with love and respect. We have not seen the abundance of disturbing scientific references in that writing, and the false political positions you often take in public debates, as standards to judge and uncriticize your writing.

At least your writing transcends your political hypocrisy. But the revelation of hatred you wrote about the ‘Snowy Boys’ deserves no mercy. You described the characters in that film as “drunken pickpockets”. You would have to travel light years to the value of ‘humanpet’ to declare without a doubt that the Perukis are to be hated. A boy and his friends who live on the outskirts of society. They are representations of a group of young people who are still alive.
As their bodies were tied to the two ends of a rope, they were growing into boundless skies of love, companionship, and tolerance, standing still in the trifles of their collection. Before these young people, we who live a contented life in the midst of selfishness should bow our heads in shame. This is how art purifies us. If drinking, cracking, hugging, dancing and banging these chumps drives you crazy, then Jayamohan is missing you.
You are making many comments that do not deserve a response and that are morbidly hateful towards Malayalam cinema. I am not trying to judge Malayalam cinema by making comparisons. Because we can never follow the logic of your hatred. You say that the focus of Malayalam cinema is the drug-addicted youth of Ernakulam. You must disclose and explain this finding. You can’t be a champion champion otherwise, Jayamohan. Yes, we have young people in Ernakulam. Brilliant people making great movies. Their addiction is friendship and cinema. Not saying more. Because our film culture respects films and filmmakers in other languages. Even the tribute given to Kamal Haasan and Ilayaraja by Chidambaram and his friends to the movie ‘Guna’ is not visible in the darkness of hatred in your eyes.
You have become a full blown fascist who whines without hesitation that the police should beat people up. Then there is the story of the high court lawyer who swept broken liquor bottles from the hills of Wagaman, you really made me laugh. There is no escape from the Gusbombs given by Kamal Haasan’s voice in the background as Kuttan climbs out of the pit of death with Subhash. But there is a disagreement. The movie is about human love. Tell the punishing gods and the greedy to go. Let us celebrate camaraderie, love is our religion. Let’s rock on, let’s party, boys.”-B. Unnikrishnan’s words.
Jayamohan insulted the Malayalees through his blog the other day. Jayamohan’s blog is titled ‘Manjummal Boys- Kutikara Porukikalin Koothattam’. Jayamohan had said in his blog that Manjummal Boys has generalized ‘forgiveness’ in the name of celebrating common people and the government should take action against the directors who make films that normalize alcoholism and adultery.
