B. Dubljevičius’ show wasn’t enough: ‘Valencia’ collapsed against the resurgent ‘AX Armani’

AX Armani Milan (6/10) rises from the bottom of the EuroLeague standings and at home 90:79 (29:22, 21:21, 21:17, 19:19) beat Valencia (7/9).

This is the third consecutive victory in the Euroleague for Milan.

The first quarter was quite even, then Milan began to advance – 32:25. Billy Baron and Devon Hall started a 9-0 run for AX Armani with long shots, while at the other end of the field Bojan Dubljevic put Valencia ahead 34-43.

The long-shot streak continued, the visitors’ deficit fell to single digits (43:50), so intrigue was to be expected after the break.

13:00 – after such a section, “AX Armani” ran away again (67:52), although Klemen Prepelić and Jared Harper revived the Valencia attack – 60:70. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the visitors’ deficit continued to decrease, while Milan waited more than three minutes for the first points of the quarter – 73:69.

Brandon Davies and Billy Baron brought Milan close to victory (80:73), even though there were 4 minutes left. Kyle Hines added two more points to close out the game. Eventually the guests had no more chances.

B. Dubljevičius’ show wasn’t enough for the Valencia team: he scored 26 points (3/4 from three), rebounded 7 balls, collected 27 useful points in 21 minutes. This is B. Dubljevičius’s third most effective match of the season.

In Milan, B.Baronas was the absolute protagonist, scoring 24 points in 27 minutes and improving his season record. Devon Hall broke his season-high with 14 points, 4 assists, 8 steals, 24 rebounds.

B. Davies was within a hair (33) of repeating his most effective performance of the season: 17 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 32 useful points.
