Bosnian Football Club Takes Extreme Measures After Disappointing Season
In a dramatic move that’s sending shockwaves through the world of football, Sloboda Tuzla, a club in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Premier League, has fired its entire coaching staff and all players. The drastic decision comes after a string of poor performances that left the team languishing at the bottom of the league table.
The club, currently sitting last in the league with a mere two points from seventeen games, has been struggling significantly. president Azmir Husić, elected to his position just last October, took the unprecedented step of letting go of the entire team. “It could not have been a more difficult day for me,” Husić admitted. “The hardest part was informing all the players that they were no longer part of Sloboda, and that’s what I did. The easy part is that there are no games this weekend, so we don’t have to think about it. We haven’t been able to score, only scored a few points.I had to go to the whole team and tell them how the situation is. Moast of them accepted it,” he explained.
The club’s coach, Zlatan Nalić, also parted ways with Sloboda Tuzla. husić stated, ”Already before lunch we agreed with Nalić that there was no point in continuing the collaboration. I think we need a new face to handle everything.”
Husić acknowledged the club’s precarious financial situation, but also indicated that some players might be offered new contracts under revised terms. “We will talk to some players,” he said. “There were some contracts that were unacceptable and that’s why I thought they shoudl all be broken. We will sign new contracts that do not contravene the regulations. Everyone was told that they are free on the market and that their contracts will be terminated. After all contracts are broken, we will be contacting some players who wore the Sloboda shirt during the first part of the season. We will try to find solutions that are more realistic than the current ones.”
The team’s next match is scheduled for February 15th. By then, Sloboda Tuzla aims to have a fully new squad and coaching staff in place, ready to tackle the challenges ahead and hopefully turn their fortunes around. This bold move highlights the intense pressure and high stakes within professional football, even at the club level.
