Construction equipment worker Ö. Öner stated that he had an evening job and said that he would stay overtime.

Ö. Öner was caught by the night watchman.

After the guard reported the situation to the boss, the boss M. Candemir came to the construction site.

According to the first statement of the guard, the thief Ö. Öner fell from the work machine and broke his jaw.

The guard later met with the boss M. Candemir and the thief Ö. He stated that there was a brawl between Öner, but he did not see the assault clearly in the dark.

Gaziantep 18th Criminal Court of First Instance, examining the reports of assault as well as witness statements, found that boss M. Candemir’s thief Ö. He ruled that he had beaten Öner.

In the decision, it was stated: “5237 No. 29/1 of the TCK. As it was understood that the defendant’s act was committed under provocation, he was sentenced to 9 months in prison with a 3/4 reduction in his sentence. Considering the past of the accused and the possible effects of the punishment on the future of the accused, it was decided to reduce the sentence by 1/6 to 7 months and 15 days in prison.

The prison sentence given to Boss M. Candemir was commuted to a fine of 4,500,00 TL.

Caught in theft, Ö. Öner applied for compensation this time.

Gaziantep 9th Civil Court of First Instance decided to pay 36 thousand TL “Material” compensation and 11 thousand TL “Moral” compensation.

Boss M. Candemir has been fined approximately 90 thousand TL in total, including court costs.

CHP Şahinbey City Council Member Uğur Kalkan evaluated the incident on his social media account as follows:

“You, be you, do not interfere even if you catch the thief. Offer your tea and coffee and wait for the police or the gendarmerie to come.”
