Kozhikode: The police and excise authorities have stepped up their investigation into the Azhiyur poisoning case. DYSPR Hariprasad is in charge of the investigation. Excise Commissioner Rajendran arrived at the scene and collected the information. Meanwhile, the student accused in the case has been suspended from the boarding school. The action was taken by Mahi Cooperative College. The college has decided to conduct an internal investigation into the incident. The young man was indicted by the POCSO department in the FIR of the case registered by the Chompala police on the 2nd of the last day on the statement of the 8th class girl who was in the drug syndicate network. Although he was charged with non-refundable charges, he was taken to the station and released after questioning. No mention of drug use or trafficking.

At the same time, the police took up the 8th grade girl’s statement in the case. The statement was re-registered amidst a situation where the girl’s revelation was picked up by the media and widespread criticism was raised against the accused’s release in the case. According to the district police chief’s instructions, the girl’s statement was re-recorded in the presence of the counselor in the women’s cell at Vadakara station. The education department and excise department reached out to the school in the wake of the revelation of the child smuggling drugs in his school uniform as per the drug squad’s instructions. An all-party meeting held at the school called for tough action against the culprits.
