Charles Leclerc won the second pole in a row in F1 2021 after rule Qualifkasi F1 GP Azerbaijan 2021. The Ferrari driver beat Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
In the session which was held at the Baku Baku Street circuit, Saturday (5/6/2021) evening WIB, Leclerc appeared excellent since Q1 and continued to sharpen his record time in Q3. He posted a time of 1 minute 41.218 seconds at the start of the Q3 session.
Lewis Hamilton who tried to record the fastest time failed because of problems in his car. After that several riders tried to beat Leclerc’s time, but always failed.
Leclerc’s run of time lasted until the end and he took his second pole position of the season, after two weeks ago in Monaco. Leclerc 0.232 seconds ahead of Hamilton who had to settle for starting from second position.
In third position, Verstappen recorded a time of 1 minute 41.565 seconds. Leclerc’s team mate, Carlos Sainz Jr., was in third place towards the end of qualifying but his car hit a wall and had to settle for fifth.
The fourth position belongs to AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly. Completing the sixth to 10th position are Lando Norris, Sergio Perez, Yuki Tsunoda, Fernando Alonso and Valtteri Bottas.
