The azc will be located on the Nijkerkerweg, in the vicinity of an existing farm. That farm does not have to be demolished for that.
BARNEVELD
If the city council approves the plan, Barneveld will have an asylum seekers center on Nijkerkerweg, north of the new residential area of Bloemendal in Barneveld. There will be an asylum seekers’ center on this site that looks like an ‘ordinary’ residential area, with thirty homes. There should soon be room for about three hundred refugees.
This is now the preferred location, which was presented on Wednesday by mayor Jacco van der Tak and alderman Jolanda de Heer. Residents have also been informed by letter on this day. It concerns a currently undeveloped site on the Nijkerkerweg, the land of which is owned by the municipality. The azc will not open its doors until 2025 at the earliest.
