AZ supporters are logically not happy with the defeat against Feyenoord. Part of the away section remarkably focused on Pascal Jansen. According to some of his own supporters, the trainer does not meet expectations and is therefore kindly requested to leave the number four of the Eredivisie.
For many Feyenoord supporters, the chanting from the away section came as a complete surprise. For the outside world, AZ is performing more than excellently. Before the match in De Kuip, the Alkmaarders were second, and at times they played a good match against Aston Villa, which ultimately turned out to be a size too big.
AZ is in a lesser phase. The matches against Aston Villa in the Conference League were both lost, and there was a draw against Excelsior in the final phase. In addition, there is a good chance that the remainder of the home match against NEC (1-2 behind) will be lost. The dip in form is good news for Feyenoord, as the Rotterdam team can therefore move further ahead of a direct competitor.
