Joerie Church will exchange AZ for the German SV Rödinghausen. The 22-year-old right back from Warmenhuizen in North Holland has already signed for two years with the leader of the Regionalliga West, the fourth level in Germany.
Church has been involved in the Alkmaar training since 2009 and has been attending 71 Kitchen Champion Division matches on behalf of Young AZ since 2017. However, a debut for the main force was not possible: for Church, it remained in one game against Vitesse on 18 April 2018. The expiring commitment of the right back was already formally canceled at the end of March.
The North Hollander can now leave for Rödinghausen on a free transfer. “We had good conversations when it was already clear to me that SVR would be the next step in my career,” Church explains to his new employer’s club channels. “Now I want to quickly work on my German so that I can start the new season optimally.”
