Only son of Denmark Viktor Axelsen decided to miss the Malaysia Masters and Singapore Open 2022.
Victor Axelsen has just succeeded in continuing his dominance after winning the men’s singles sector at the Malaysia Open 2022 after defeating Kento Momota in the final with a landslide score of 21-4, 21-7, Sunday (3/7).
This victory makes Axelsen add to his list of wins in 2022. The reason is, before winning at the Malaysia Open 2022, Axelsen also won the Indonesia Open and Indonesia Masters 2022.
However, after winning the Malaysia Open, Axelsen decided to take a break and not participate in the next two tournaments, the Malaysia Masters and the Singapore Open. Axelsen expressed this certainty through a message sent via a story on his Instagram account, Monday (4/7).
“Hello everyone. First of all I want to thank you for all your support during these busy weeks. I am of course very happy with the results of these last three tournaments. It was amazing to play in Indonesia and Malaysia in front of so many amazing people. normal,” Axelsen said, quoted from his Instastory.
“Also a big thank you again to my team, family and friends for their continuous support,” Axelsen added.
Axelsen admitted that he really wanted to appear in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysia Masters and then the Singapore Open. However, according to him now is the time for him to rest to recover before appearing in other tournaments.
“I really want to compete again here in KL [Kuala Lumpur] this week and then in SG [Singapura]”But when I woke up this morning, my son and I thought it was time to rest and recover before I stepped out onto the pitch again,” said Axelsen.
“I need a few days off to rest, celebrate my recent victory with my family and then set new goals,” Axelsen added.
The Malaysia Masters will be held from Tuesday (5/7) to 10 July. The Singapore Open 2022 will be held from 12-17 July 2022.
