May 20, 2022 – Axel Springer and Snap Inc. have agreed on a global partnership. Both companies also want to invest in building augmented reality news.

who are already active on Snapchat, the editors of “Welt
in the US and Upday
produce shows for Discover in Germany, Spain and Italy. “Bild” and “Insider” will also contribute entertainment and lifestyle content.
Another central element of the partnership is an augmented reality cooperation with the FreeTech Axel Springer Academy of Journalism and Technology
. With Snap’s support, the FreeTech will teach the basics of AR and prepare the next generation of reporters to experiment with augmented reality storytelling on Snapchat.
