WGV Insurance: Dr. Frank Welfens leaves the board
Dr. Frank Welfens (45), member of the Board of Management of Württembergische Gemeinde-Versicherung aG (WGV), WGV-Versicherung AG and WGV-Lebensversicherung AG, is resigning from his Board of Management positions at his own request effective August 31, 2024 in order to take on new professional challenges. The Supervisory Board of WGV deeply regrets the departure of Dr. Welfens.
Axa Pension Report: Women want more retirement provision
Every second woman (52 percent) who is still to retire would like to save more for her old age, but cannot afford it financially. Among men who are not yet of retirement age, fewer agree with this statement (46 percent). More women (29 percent) than men (20 percent) also say that they do not save for their retirement at all. Against this background, significantly more women (29 percent) than men (19 percent) in Germany are afraid of poverty in old age. These are the results of the Axa Pension Report, a study for which the opinion research institute YouGov, on behalf of AXA, surveyed 2,053 people online in July 2024, representative of their age and gender.
VGH Versicherungen: David Nedel becomes new IT director
At its meeting on August 20, 2024, the Supervisory Board of VGH Versicherungen appointed David Nedel as Chief IT Officer effective October 1, 2024. Subject to the approval of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), the 45-year-old will head the new Executive Board department for IT and Digitalization.
Europe: RLV campaign honors social commitment
Europa honors people whose actions serve a charitable purpose, the performance of a public office or a social task. Taking on these activities is voluntary and free of charge. For example, the coach in the sports club, the member of the volunteer fire brigade or the parents’ council at the children’s school. Every customer who takes out term life insurance under tariff E-RL, E-RLP or E-VRL by October 31, 2024 will benefit from the campaign. In the application, they state how they are socially committed. Europa reserves the right to examine the offer. If the contract is concluded, the customer will receive a voucher of their choice worth 15 euros in each of the first five years of insurance, provided that the premiums have been paid on time and the contract has not been terminated.
Name change: IQ²strategies GmbH becomes Dipay GmbH
IQ²strategies GmbH, a processing service provider for alternative compensation solutions in the insurance industry, announces its renaming to Dipay GmbH. In addition to the renaming, the company announced that it will strengthen its position as organizer of the annual VIFIT (Insurance and Finance Forum for Innovative Trends) by expanding the event format to at least two additional locations from 2025.
Haftpflichtkasse appoints Frank Welfens as CEO
Dr. Frank Welfens will be the new CEO of the liability insurance company, as the property and accident insurer from Roßdorf near Darmstadt announced in a statement. Welfens comes from WGV Versicherung, where he has been responsible for sales, product development and marketing, the contract departments, software development and digitalization of the WGV Group as a member of the board since 2017. Subject to the approval of the supervisory authorities, he will take over the chairmanship of the board from Roland Roider and the operations department previously headed by Torsten Wetzel on September 1, 2024. Before Welfens moved to WGV Versicherung, he worked as an authorized signatory and department head for the Allianz Group in Munich and Unterföhring in various functions since 2009, particularly in internal management consulting and sales. The business administration graduate began his professional career in 2007 at Württembergische Versicherung AG.
