The Rundāle Castle Museum was nominated by the Latvian Museum Association. The museum will receive the Excellence Award for professionally performed and internationally acclaimed work in the restoration, creation and preservation of the Rundāle Castle ensemble and the French Baroque garden, which has not only made a significant contribution to popularizing Latvia’s cultural values. a place in the European Garden Awards nomination “Management or Development of a Historic Park or Garden”.
Each of the three winners will also receive a financial prize of € 7,000 after taxes.
Candidates’ applications for the award were nominated by the institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, sectoral advisory councils, non-governmental organizations and local governments. The submitted applications were evaluated by the Latvian National Council of Culture in accordance with the regulations of the award, and approved by the Minister of Culture.
