The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards were presented on Sunday 13 March. The ceremony took place in Royal Alberthol, with Jane Campion’s western “Dog Power” as the best film, Jane Campion as the best director, and the science fiction film “Dune” triumphing in five categories – best music, artist, cinematographer, sound and special effects.

Three films – CODA, West Side Story and Dog Power – received two awards. Yen Canning, a producer of Dog Power, quoted Thomas Sevidge as the author of the original work: “Everyone has the right to be noticed, everyone has the right to feel safe, everyone has the right to love.”

The most important awards at the British Academy Awards ceremony – for best film and directing – went to actor Benedict Camberbach because Jane Campion was unable to attend the ceremony. Like Wil Smith, who was named Best Actor in The Winning Family, she was in Los Angeles, where she was awarded the Critics Choice Awards and where both were recognized as the best in their professions. Mr Kamberbach had put a sticker on his outfit stating his support for Ukraine, and Steven Graham, the lead in the five-category BAFTA thriller nominee, and the 13-year-old Woody Norman, who played in Michael Mail’s Black and White Ribbon , ” West Side Story actresses Rachel Zegel and Ariana de Bose were dressed in blue and yellow evening dresses, forming an ensemble in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

B. Kamberbačs received the award from the hands of comedian Andy Serkis. One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony was a performance by British legend Sherley Bayisia, accompanied by standing sights – she performed “Diamonds Are Forever”. Bondad, with whom viewers have known for 60 years, was nominated for three BAFTA awards and received one (best sound) for their last film, No Time to Die. Lashan Lynch (“No Time to Die”) received the “Rising Star” award from the previously awarded Lady Gaga and Bakia Bakrey.

In the Best Actress category, the award went to Joan Scenlena for her role in Alima Hah’s After Love, and Ariana de Bose’s Stephen Spielberg’s screening of the Broadway musical West Side Story was named Best Supporting Actress. Receiving the award for Best Supporting Actor, Troy Kotsur (“CODA”) played on the uncertainty about the future of the bondage and mentioned that maybe it was time for a deaf spy. CODA also received an award for best adapted screenplay (Sean Head), while Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza was named Best Original Screenplay.

Rjusuke Hammaguchi’s film “Drive My Car” was awarded the best foreign film. The best British film award went to Kennett Bran’s childhood-inspired black-and-white Belfast, which reveals the tense situation in the Northern Irish capital in the late 1960s. The best documentary is the American film Soula Summer in Harlem, which premiered in Harlem in 1969, and the best full-length animated film is Walt Disney’s Encanto Studio.

The British Academy of Cinema and Television’s awards ceremony this year was hosted by Rebel Wilson, who gave in to heresies on both James Bond’s Daniel Craig and Downing Street and the British royal family.
