Award-winning VTM series ‘Red Light’ will soon also be shown abroad | TV

In ‘Red Light’, the Dutch actresses Carice van Houten (‘Game of Thrones’) and Halina Reijn (‘Instinct’), who also conceived the series, play alongside our Flemish actress Maaike Neuville (‘The Twaalf’). They end up in the dangerous and intriguing world of people smuggling, prostitution and exploitation in Antwerp and Amsterdam. Gradually, the absolute opposites discover how much they need each other to solve their problems.

The VTM series already received a lot of interest and acclaimed reviews, both nationally and internationally, at its premiere in Cannes. It won, among other things, the Special Interpretation Prize and the Prix des Lucéens in Cannes, and a Golden Calf for best series at the Netherlands Film Festival. ‘Red Light’ became so popular that international distributors also wanted to buy the series. For example, ARTE France will take care of the distribution for France and Germany, where the series will be released in 2022. But the drama series also convinces further from home. In Europe, the series was sold to AMC Iberia, NRK in Norway, Walter Presents in the United Kingdom, Pasaka in Lithuania and Turkcell in Turkey. Elsewhere in the world, the series will be broadcast by Rialto in New Zealand, by SBS in Australia and a streaming service in Latin America. Other major foreign distributors are yet to be announced.

The series can now be seen with us on Streamz and this fall at VTM.
