The Venezuelan Film Festival announced the award-winning films in the 2022 edition, made from July 17 to 21 in Mérida, a film gala that closed by making official a first decree for its declaration as Regional Cultural Heritage.
The activity was held at the Tulio Febres Cordero Cultural Center, in the Libertador municipality of the state, bringing together creators and promoters of national cinema, spokespersons for government entities for culture and related independent organizations.
The closing ceremony was broadcast through different social networks, via the internet, on Thursday night, a broadcast that was followed and analyzed by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).
The film stood out as best film and as best debut film me and the beastsa fiction feature film directed by Nico Manzano and classified in the big screen drama and fantasy categories.
The special mention for fiction feature films was awarded to the action film The Takedirected by Jackson Gutierrez.
The award for best screenplay went to the film The exorcism of Godhorror and suspense feature film, written by Santiago Fernández Calvete, in collaboration with the film’s director, Alejandro Hidalgo, review AVN.
At the award ceremony, a first government decree was made official to declare the Venezuelan Film Festival as Regional Cultural Heritage, published the Instagram account of the governor of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, underlining the “acceptance of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro”.
“I congratulate all those responsible and organizers for this important event that is and will continue to be from Merida,” adds the governor’s publication, Jehyson Guzmán.
