MSimone Hirth is awarded the “Frau Ava Literature Prize 2023”.
The Kirchstetten author receives the prize for her story “5 or: The poem about nothing”, which she wrote in winter. The text was selected from 74 entries. “That’s nice,” says Simone Hirth happily. The award ceremony will take place in April as part of a ceremony in Kleinwien. Frau Ava is considered the first female poet in the German language and was born around 1060. In all probability, she lived in the former convent of Göttweig, in what is now Kleinwien. The “Frau Ava Literature Prize” is awarded every two years.
Simone Hirth lives as a freelance author in Kirchstetten and has already published four books. A new novel is currently in the works. The work is currently being edited and should be published by Kremayr & Scheriau in August. Simone Hirth worked on the novel for about a year. She hasn’t revealed anything about the content yet.
