AvtoVAZ sold 38,064 Lada cars in November this year. This figure is 21.9% more than the figures for the same period last year. According to a press release from the Russian company (available to Autonews.ru), this is the best result in a month since December 2013, when 38,948 vehicles were sold.
“Record sales of Lada cars in November became possible thanks to the action of state and Lada’s own programs, as well as the launch of sales of special series of our popular models. The sales growth was also influenced by the supply of cars within the framework of advanced government procurement programs, ”commented Olivier Morne, Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing at AvtoVAZ, on the sales results.
However, the top executive predicted that the overall results for 2020 would be expected to be lower than the results for 2019, even though demand was strong in the fall months. At the same time, Morne stressed that “in this difficult time, the company managed to maintain both the market share and the confident leadership of the Lada brand in Russia”.
In November, Lada Granta became the most popular car of AvtoVAZ. During the month, Russians bought 14,540 of these cars, which is 15.6% more than last year. At the moment, the Lada Granta family includes a sedan, a liftback, a hatchback, a station wagon and its all-terrain Cross-version. The company also sells a training version for driving school instructors and a special version of the Drive Active with sporty suspension and steering settings.
Lada Vesta is in second place. The sales of these vehicles increased by 35.3%. In total, 11,771 Lada Vesta cars were sold in November. The first three are the passenger and commercial versions of the Largus family. A total of 4,052 such vehicles were sold in November.
In November it became known that AvtoVAZ again raised prices for almost the entire model line of Lada. Automobiles of the domestic brand went up by an average of about 1-1.5%. Thus, the Volzhsky Automobile Plant has been raising the cost of its cars for the sixth time in 2020. Prior to that, the domestic automaker adjusted the price tags on October 1, when the price for cars went up by 2-3% or 10-13 thousand rubles.
