AvtoVAZ has officially started mass production of the renovated Lada Vesta at the plant in Izhevsk. Contrary to expectations, the model received the prefix NG to the name (from a new generation), because in AvtoVAZ the innovation is positioned exactly like the next generation of Vesta, and not as a restyling.
However, the changes are limited to a new exterior and interior design, as well as expanding the list of equipment: LED optics, digital dashboard and a large tablet with a multimedia system are some of the innovations installed on Vesta. So far, however, only the exterior of the car is shown.
On February 22, 2022, the first serial Vesta of the new generation came off the assembly line of the Lada plant in Izhevsk – this was the cross-universal variant in the maximum equipment configuration and in a new golden color, which is called Garfield.
The new model may differ from that before the reform of the chrome arch integrated in the front bumper – this technical solution is used for the first time in a production car Lada. The armor itself has a more developed relief.
The headlights are now fully LED, as are the fog lights and taillights. “LEDs have improved the quality of light flux, and cold white light provides high contrast in different weather conditions,” said AvtoVAZ.
There are several options for choosing the design of the radiator grille: in the standard versions it is crossed by two chrome strips, which visually make the car wider and lower, while in the Cross versions the grille has a pattern with a large mesh.
There are also two new decorative exhaust pipes on the rear bumper, as well as stamps on the trunk lid, which make the car look longer. In addition to all of the above, the Vesta also gets 16- and 17-inch shiny black wheels.
A lot of new extras have been announced for Vesta. For example, additional sensors in the front and rear bumpers, which are part of the parking safety system and the dead zone monitoring system in motion.
However, AvtoVAZ is still silent about the line of engines, but the previously published approval for the type of vehicle lists the same engines that were installed on the previous Vesta.
These are petrol atmospheric units 21129 (1.6 liters, 106 horsepower), 21179 (1.8 liters, 122 horsepower), as well as the French engine Renault H4M-HR16DE (1.6 liters, 113 horsepower). The gearboxes are also the same – manual and CVT Jatco.
