AvtoVAZ Produces Incomplete Cars: Quality Issues and Dealership Complaints

AvtoVAZ produces incomplete cars and ships them to dealers. Car dealerships are forced to understaff Lada on their own, and sometimes even repaint them.

It seems that the Soviet Union in all its manifestations is returning to the aggressor country. After all the world’s automakers left the Russian market, they were left with a choice only between local “frets” and “Chinese”. And now another problem has been added to this – the quality and completeness of cars.

It is also interesting that Lada turned out to be the automaker with the oldest model range in the world.

AvtoVAZ dealers complain that 60-70 percent of the updated Vesta NG model arrives at showrooms in an “understaffed” package. And Lada Niva Travel SUVs have to reinstall bumpers and change fuel hoses.

Cars from the factory end up in car dealerships without some parts. In particular, the cars lack the ERA-GLONASS panic button and the plastic edging of the multimedia system. Therefore, dealers cannot sell Lada.

Almost immediately after leaving the dealership on Lada Vesta NG cars, the anti-roll bar begins to knock. After all, earlier a high-quality Czech part was installed on this car, and after the start of the war, when “import substitution” passed – local – produced by the Magnitogorsk Trade and Production Company, Magnitogorsk.

Earlier, another marriage was found on Lada Vesta NG. AvtoVAZ has replaced the supplier and design of brake mechanisms, so calipers and brake pads are supplied from China. Their quality caused a lot of discontent among car owners. Chinese pads creak from the beginning of operation and wear out after 10-11 thousand runs. It is impossible to find pads from other manufacturers in the country.

In general, it seems that SBU agents are working in Togliatti, who were given the task of reducing the number of Russians. In particular, on the same “updated” Lada Vesta NG there was no rear bumper amplifier (it is located under the plastic bumper, distributing the load during an accident). Why was he there at all?

AvtoVAZ has serious problems with paint. On many Lada cars that came to car dealerships, there was a difference in color between metal and plastic parts. That is, the fender and bumper are different in color. The manufacturer explains this by “difficulties in the selection of suppliers.” And they solve it radically – by reducing the color palette to one color – white. Even earlier, the choice was small – only four colors, but this turned out to be too much for the Russians. The release of multi-colored Lada is planned only by the end of this year. If you find a supplier who will ensure that the paint adheres equally to metal and plastic surfaces.

Of course, the leadership of AvtoVAZ calls all these problems fiction. Perhaps the State Duma will even introduce a norm into the legislation, where people will be put in jail for criticizing the Russian auto industry. However, the president of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, admitted that cars without “the simplest parts” can be delivered to car dealerships. The matter, according to him, lies in the peak speed of the conveyor, which the Lada Vesta line managed to reach. Some vendors can’t keep up. Because of this, “difficult managerial decisions” are made: cars leave the assembly line without some parts. Does this phrase remind you of anything?

The missing parts of the machine are retrofitted at a warehouse or in a car dealership, Sokolov said, adding that they are installed in three to five minutes.

However, why be in such a hurry during the operation of the conveyor, if in the summer all the workers of the AvtoVAZ plant will go on a forced vacation? Since July 26, the plant has been stopped due to interruptions in the supply of automotive components. And after going to work from mid-August, they will be assembled on the assembly line of the new Vesti, and in one shift. After all, the plant has accumulated more than 10 thousand incomplete Vesta NG.

By the way, AvtoVAZ workers had their salaries cut sharply. Maybe to work even worse?
