AvtoVAZ plans to start equipping Lada Granta cars with a new variant, which will replace the Jatco automatic transmission. This was announced by the company’s vice president for sales and marketing, Dmitry Kostromin, in an interview with Yuzhny Automobile. According to him, at the moment the company has a stock of automatic transmissions for Lada Granta in their warehouses, which will be exhausted by the end of the year. New CVTs will appear on the model no earlier than 2026, and will be supplied by the same company as the Lada Vesta. At the same time, Kostromin clarified that different CVTs will be used for Granta and Vesta. Previously, the Lada Granta was equipped with a Jatco automatic transmission, but deliveries ceased after relations with the Renault-Nissan alliance were severed. As a result the production of cars with automatic transmission was stopped. This year, AvtoVAZ started production of Lada Granta with automatic transmission from the remaining stock. Now the price for Lada Granta in Comfort’24 Plus configuration with 1.6-liter engine and automatic transmission starts from 1,298,000 rubles.
