Avtograd news: AvtoVAZ produces Lada Granta and Niva without airbags
AvtoVAZ does not have enough airbags for Lada Granta and Niva cars. This was reported by insiders from the Avtograd news community on the VKontakte social network.
According to them, on Saturday, October 14, 590 Granta cars rolled off the AvtoVAZ assembly line during a 12-hour shift. The second day cars are produced in incomplete condition without airbags. On the same day, 400 incomplete Niva SUVs were produced in Tolyatti, insiders said.
In July of this year, the head of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD), Alexey Podshchekoldin, said that AvtoVAZ ships disassembled Lada cars to dealers, and the share of such cars reaches 60-70%. Later, the head of AvtoVAZ explained that cars without a number of parts can be temporarily kept in the warehouse of an enterprise or dealer, then they are completed and handed over to customers.
At the end of September, AvtoVAZ began online sales of Lada models at factory prices. On the manufacturer’s website you can purchase Granta in the Standard configuration (670 thousand rubles), as well as a version of the Drive Active model (911 thousand rubles).
