The VSA, which claims to have a few hundred pharmacies, criticized “the apparent inaction of the Abda” after the AvP bankruptcy. Because from the perspective of the group, there are structural problems that customers of other data centers are also exposed to. It cannot be assumed that only the AvP customers only had the “wrong contracts” or the “obviously wrong clearing house”. “On the contrary: only the AvP was monitored by BaFin at all. It was of little use, ”says the open letter.
In fact, as a reaction to the AvP bankruptcy, BaFin is currently dealing with the overall prescription accounting system. A whistleblower had pointed out that the money from the prescription billing at other data centers could not be in the possession of the billing pharmacy in a safe way. “When and how were ALL pharmacy owners made clear that the billing system as it is today still harbors unpredictable risks. When was the call for solidarity with one another?
The VSA sees a letter from the Bavarian Minister of Health Melanie Huml (CSU), who has since resigned, as proof that the professional representation is not concerned with coping with the AvP bankruptcy. Shortly before Christmas, she explained to the Bavarian state parliament that the BAV and the Bavarian Chamber of Pharmacists (BLAK) had not shown any great commitment to help the damaged pharmacies.
Significant for the VSA is the outcome of a meeting in the ministry on October 9th, which was also about possible state aid. However, the BAV and BLAK still did not provide the report requested here on the extent to which Bavarian pharmacies were affected and estimates of the necessary funding measures, even three months later. But according to Huml, this is a prerequisite for examining government support at all. It was also not clearly communicated that the few aid measures such as KfW loans, advance payments from the health insurers or loans from Apobank were not sufficient.
Instead, the VSA feels downright deceived by individual professional representatives. So Dr. Jörn Graue, chairman of the Hamburger Apothekerverein, publicly warned of the call to the state. And FOT Vice-President Josef Kammermeier even made fun of the AvP victims in an e-mail that was accidentally sent incorrectly.
As paying members, the pharmacists concerned could expect that their interests would be represented and information passed on, writes the VSA to Overwiening and Hubmann.
