The purchase of a house is an achievement that many workers hope to have, and the Institute of the National Fund for Workers’ Housing (Infonavit), is one of the most used options to acquire a mortgage credit. Among the benefits of having a loan with the Institution is that the Flexipago.
This Infonavit function helps workers who acquired a loan have payment options in case of losing their job, in this way they will not lose their property in case they do not have the funds to meet the monthly payments. Here we will tell you how flexipayment works and the requirements to request it.

How does Flexipago Infonavit work?
This program provides alternative payment options so that they do not lose their home due to loss of employment, these are
- With the Payment Protection Fund: If you took out your credit with Infonavit after 2009, you can use this fund so that you only cover part of the monthly payment.
- Partial Extension: With this option you can pay only 50% of your monthly payment for only 6 months. The other half will go to the total amount of your credit, this gives you a period of time to find work or resources to return to the normality of your payments.
- Total extension: This modality only lasts 4 months, Infonavit covers the interest, and the monthly installments go towards the total amount of the credit. This option also gives you a period, although shorter, to recover your loan payments.
Requirements to have Flexipago
If you lose your job, and you need to use any of these payment options to avoid losing your home, you must have the following requirements:
- Not having requested any support from Infonavit in the last 5 years.
- That the credit of your house is of at least 6 months.
- Have at least a month without working.
- That your payments have always been for the entire monthly payment
