The Integrated health and social services center (CISSS) of Montérégie-Ouest asks for the collaboration of the population to avoid as much as possible the emergency of Anna-Laberge Hospital of Châteauguay. The place is currently experiencing significant traffic, which prompted the management to issue this appeal to all.
Remember that the emergency is not generally the first place to consult.
Other possibilities to consider before going to the emergency room:
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19, it is possible to make an appointment for a consultation at a designated assessment clinic or for a screening by calling 450 644-4545 or 1 877 644-4545. It is also possible to go to the walk-in screening clinics on the territory.
- Info-Santé 8-1-1 is a resource available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A nurse can provide you with specific advice regarding your situation. They can also tell you whether you need to see a doctor quickly or not.
- Your pharmacist can also guide you in what to do by asking you questions about your general state of health.
- Seek a consultation with your family doctor if you have one. If your doctor cannot see you quickly, they may refer you to another clinic nearby.
- Visit the Health and Well-Being Portal or the site Rendez-vous santé Québec to make an appointment near you in a family medicine group (GMF) or in a GMF-Réseau (GMF-R Vaudreuil-Dorion, GMF-R des Trois-Lacs or GMF-R on Trait d’Union) which offers walk-in consultations.
- Do not go to the hospital emergency room unless you have major complications.
