Avo Keel was elected chairman of the Pärnumaa region of the Center Party

At the annual conference of the Pärnumaa region of the Estonian Central Party, the legendary volleyball player and volleyball coach and member of the Pärnu city council Avo Keel was elected as the chairman of the region.

“While talking to active and good people, my candidacy came up, and as a rule, I don’t think very long when making decisions. I have been a member of the Central Party for 14 years and I am happy to contribute to the development of the region where I live,” said Avo Keel. “I want to devote myself to the development of the region with all my might. I start from the principle: “If you want to go fast, go alone.” If you want to go far, you have to go together.”

Avo Keel, who played beach volleyball at the Atlanta Olympics and coached the Estonian and Latvian national teams to the finals of the European Championships, works as a Cronimet volleyball league coordinator and contributes part-time to the development of Saaremaa volleyball.

Politics, like sports, offers a pleasant thrill. Estonia needs a balanced and middle-class-oriented policy pursued by the Center Party, and I will do my best to make the Pärnumaa region cohesive and active,” said Avo Keel, owner of the Valgetähe IV class decoration.
