Urs Uhlmann since January 4, 2021 has held the position of Managing Director, Key Accounts and Specialized Insurance (GCS), withinAviva Canada. The insurer specifies that Mr. Uhlmann has joined his board of directors and that he reports to his chief executive officer Jason Storah.
“Mr. Uhlmann is a seasoned leader in P&C insurance with extensive expertise and experience, over 35 years of experience, and his reputation for driving profitable growth is well established. ”Said Aviva Canada.
Mr. Uhlmann was Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer ofAXA XL Canada from September 2018 to October 2020. His replacement was appointed in December 2020.
Between September 2012 and January 2017, Mr. Uhlmann was Chief Executive Officer, Key Accounts, at Zurich Canada, a company in which he worked for 18 years.
Three other nominations
Aviva Canada also announced three other appointments. That of Shaun Walsh, appointed to the post of head of the property, reinsurance and risk management department in the corporate insurance sector. Mr. Walsh was previously Director, Underwriting, Technical Risks, at Northbridge Assurance.
That of Nathalie Czyzewski, appointed to the position of head of the accident division, within the technical production team. Ms. Czyzewski was previously head of the accident division at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Canada.
Finally, that of Craig Emuss, appointed to the position of Head of Portfolio Solutions, GCS. The latter will take office next February and will report to Mr. Uhlmann, details Aviva.
Mr. Emuss is leaving Northbridge Insurance, a company he worked for for 16 years. Since August 2014, he held the position of Vice-President, Special Risks.
“This appointment is another example of our focus on commercial insurance, and there is no doubt that Craig’s extensive experience in finance and insurance production as well as his expertise in the GCS market will help to consolidate our leading position in the GCS industry, ”commented Jason Storah.
The latter granted an interview to Insurance portal in which he unveils his strategy for 2021.
