Known in particular for being the singer of the group Moriarty, Rosemary Standley appears as one of the most remarkable voices on the contemporary scene. “Postponement of the January 27 concert. We’re not meant to last, it’s this beautiful electric confession that Hey Hey My My delivered to us in 2010 in the album A Sudden Change of Mood. 10 years have passed since then, but the two Julien, Gaulier and Garnier, former leaders of neo-folk made in France, are back. On the first album, the fact that we did folk was almost an accident, ”admits Julien Garnier. True, if we are to believe the new cards brought down by the duo with Plastic Life, a first single with a very 60’s hot production, carried by a rhythm and a piano worthy of a Californian western. Hey Hey My My still has things to say, their next album is coming out in March 2020 and we are in a hurry to come and listen to them. Because, when their two voices harmonize, we no longer know if we are in 2020 or in 2010, if it is modern or if it is old, if it is folk or rock, or if it has the least importance. “Since 2013, the multidisciplinary collective and fifteen-fifteen music group has been refining its ‘climatic’ music, abundant and insular, carried by the Tahitian heritage of two of its members. In this magical, poetic space open to dance, the ancestral Polynesian oratory art, the ōrero, rubs shoulders with traditional percussive instruments, Caribbean influences and futuristic electronic productions. In 2018, fifteen-fifteen put its bubbling creativity and its vast bank of homemade samples at the service of an immersion in Polynesian myths of the creation of the world, with the EP Nevaneva. Faithful to this narrative and experimental approach, their new EP called Le Jeune takes us through an archipelago of strange and post-apocalyptic miniature tales. An eruptive universe like the video illustrating the eponymous title: we see curious irradiated explorers dancing in the middle of once idyllic landscapes that have become radioactive nightmare. “ – Reserve your seats!
