Monday April 13 was the beginning of the end for Carlos Avila’s management as Claromecó’s delegate. The impossibility of avoiding the entrance to the town of Augusto Lemble, son of the prosecutor Carlos Facundo Lemble, who arrived to carry out the quarantine, led to his resignation.
“This is motivated by the feeling of having failed my principles by not being able to fulfill the commitment assumed to defend and take care of my people in the face of this pandemic that we are facing,” he said in the letter addressed to Mayor Carlos Sánchez.
That day there was a demonstration and Augusto Lemble finally left Claromecó. The resignation was accepted by Sánchez and three days later it was announced that the replacement would be Billy Wilson.
Since the appointment of the director of a decentralized body, such as the Claromecó entity, is carried out ad referendum of the Council, the endorsement of the blocks was required to confirm Wilson. Months later, in a session held on June 18, the appointment was rejected by a majority and Mayor Carlos Sánchez had to look for someone to assume that role.
“It has never been possible for the Council to reject the appointment of a delegate, in this case, a director of the Decentralized Entity. Now I have to work on solving this problem of having Claromecó without a delegate ”, stated the communal chief when asked by this newspaper.
The chosen one was Julián Lamberti, who was then Director of Tourism. After the endorsement of the Council, he was put into office on July 2, the date from which he carries out his administration.
Consequently, this year there were three delegates in the locality. The effect of the pandemic and the tensions on the departure of Carlos Avila, who had taken office in December 2015; a short work by Billy Wilson; and finally, the current delegate who on Saturday January 2 will complete six months with this responsibility.
On November 9, works were inaugurated on Costanera avenue, near the Nautico descent, where the pedestrian path was continued and an attractive public space was created. In addition, among other works, a new portico is being installed at the access.
There is a lot to do, ideas, jobs that have been planned. The beginning of 2021 will bring a series of possible achievements, surely situations to be resolved and a broad agenda, because the town is growing and the needs are also of another dimension.
