Kloe Lang presents her show Love me at the Avignon Off festival from July 7 to 26, 2022 at 7:20 p.m. at the Lila’s theater. In this show she sings a selection of songs by Barbara and Janis Joplin.
More than a recital, Aimez-moi, Kloé Lang’s first album, is a story. She explains to us. During her long evenings of wandering, of doubt, in her quest for absolute love, for impossible love, two women came to her rescue on numerous occasions. Barbara and Janis Joplin. Like surrogate mothers, they appear to her to take her in, comfort her and tell her to dare.
And Kloe Lang dares everything with confirmed talent. Alone on stage with a small keyboard, an omnichord, a few small instruments and a looper, she dares everything. She offers us titles by Janis Joplin, magnificent songs by Barbara and ends her recital on love with one of her own songs.
It’s intimate. It’s joyful, poetic and tenderly funny. The eleven titles that make up the show travel within a tale that is as personal as it is collective. The scenography supports the trait of the dream. We are on a small cloud of poetry rich in moments of grace to the accents of Barbara’s warm and rare voice.
