Avignon Fencing Association Dominates at Vaucluse Departmental Challenge

It was this weekend that the 4e Vaucluse departmental challenge, in the presence of the president of the French Fencing Federation, Bruno Gares. Traveling for this occasion, the Avignon Fencing Association won several gold medals. Thus Solal Parpeyrat Fournel, upgraded to M15, won the final in junior foil while Lucas Dequest obtained first place in epee, followed by his comrade Henry Brunet (3e ). Still in epee, among seniors, Ferdinand Breffi finished first while Benoît Camus obtained 3e place. Note also the first places, in their respective categories, of Célestine Cance, Victor Ducharne, Anselme Guyomar and Noa Pichon. In addition, the event was also an opportunity to attend the presentation of the golden sword (distinction which rewards a career in the service of fencing) to Marie-Chantal Demaille, fencing master of the club. de Monteux, by Michel Olivier, president of the French Arms Academy. Now, the Avignon fencing masters Giulio Tomassini and Haïfa Jabri are preparing their students for the next qualifying team foil events which will take place in Hénin-Beaumont (Pas-de-Calais) on April 22 and 23.
