AVIGNON Exceptional cars will be at Motor Passion

The 19th edition of Avignon Motor Passion will be held on March 24, 25 and 26 at the Parc expo. On the program: nearly 2,000 legendary vehicles and numerous events, for what promises to be the third biggest automotive event in France.

An event which, despite the health pass last year, still attracted 25,000 visitors. Now that the health restrictions are behind us, “this edition finds colorswelcomes Marc Simelière, president of Avignon Tourisme, co-organizer of the event. We have 350 exhibitors, more than 100 car clubs, nearly 2,000 vehicles on display, but also individuals who will come to exhibit theirs. » What to do in the living room “a source of attractiveness beyond the city and the department”adds the municipal councilor, Arnaud Petitboulanger.

“We have many foreigners who come for our exhibitions and our program”, adds Camille Bourges, curator of the festival with Florent Bourges for Cam’s organization. It must be said that the organizers have put the small dishes in the big ones. “We scoured all of Europe to see what is being done”adds Camille Bourges, who has thus succeeded in rounding up cars that we will not see elsewhere.

Three major thematic exhibitions are scheduled: one on the Bol d’or, the first 24-hour race, created 101 years ago, which will be an opportunity to “present curiosities, small cars unknown to the general public, which will surprise”, says Camille Bourges. Another exhibition, that on the Talbot brand, with, among others, “A magnificent Talbot field from the 24 Hours of Le Mans”, the legendary race celebrating its centenary this year. Still in the sphere of anniversaries, the 70th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette and the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 will be duly celebrated, through the Association of Friends of the Avignon circuit for the beautiful German. Each time with exceptional examples, including a Corvette entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1970s.

On the entertainment side, there will be dragster starts, demonstrations by the Galapiats association, which has created its own racing car, demonstrations of radio-controlled trucks or even slalom and drift baptisms by a professional pilot. The Nostalgie Motors association will also be offering an exhibition of vintage motorcycles, and the 4 A association an exhibition of youngtimer cabriolets, including cars between 10 and 30 years old. The association will also offer two parades and an exhibition on the engines that marked their era.

The show will also be an opportunity to sell or buy a collector’s or prestige car, as well as spare parts thanks to a major exchange. Also note that the driver Bruno Saby and the official painter of the 24 Hours of Le Mans François Bruère will be present at the show.
