In 2016, the pain was so great that shortly after Ushuaia’s concert in Ibiza he announced that he was withdrawing from concerts. Despite the huge interest in him around the world and the calendar being filled. He cited the need to seek interests in various areas of life. He said he had far too little time to enjoy nature and everyday life. He also hinted at personal difficulties he had struggled with. Avicii’s last performance took place on August 28, 2016, and he summed it up with the following words:
This Sunday was my last performance. But I’m far from my last days in the world of music. Creating music is what makes me happy. I have met so many wonderful people during my shows, seen so many amazing places and created countless good memories. The decision I made may seem strange to some, but everyone is different and for me it was the right decision. Thank you to all my fans, friends and family and all my aviciicrew/family members. This was our journey together.
