A bomb from the Second World War was found in Neuenburg am Rhein near Freiburg, the area around is evacuated.
Neuchâtel on the Rhine – On the grounds of the State Horticultural Show 2022 in Neuenburg on the Rhine south of Freiburg, a 500 kilogram is under construction Aviation bomb from World War II.

The site was cordoned off and will be monitored, the police said on Friday. The bomb will be defused by specialists from the ordnance disposal service on Sunday.
The area within a radius of 500 meters around the site was cleared for this on Sunday morning.
Around 1,800 residents would have to leave their homes and apartments. An emergency shelter for those affected will be set up in a school center.
In addition, the Neuchâtel motorway triangle will be blocked for the time of bomb defusing. Traffic disabilities must be expected.
According to the organizers, the state horticultural show in Neuenburg (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) is to take place from April to October 2022.

For the show, a 40-hectare site on the banks of the Rhine, right on the border with France, is being developed and transformed into a nature and flower park. The World War II bomb was found during this work.
