Avezzano – Avezzano hospital revises its organization in an anti-covid function, moving clinics and services through logistical changes conceived and implemented through a team game that involved the manager Roberto Testa, the corporate health director, Sabrina Cicogna, and the medical director of the hospital Lora Cipollone.
The medicine, on the third floor, was transformed into a covid ward, in order to decongest the emergency room, crowded with patients waiting to find a bed for hospitalization.
On the first floor, since yesterday, the gray area works, reserved for covid positive patients waiting for the second confirmation swab. This area is made up of rooms, equipped with toilets, which accommodate only one patient in order to ensure physical isolation.
Following the establishment of the gray zone, the location of the clinics was changed. Some have been relocated to other points in the Avezzano hospital, others transferred to those of Tagliacozzo and Pescina, such as the small surgery clinic that will operate in safe conditions for patients and health workers.
By virtue of the reorganization action, with the aim of decongesting the influx of patients and always guaranteeing maximum safety for users, in the next few days the angiology, diabetology and allergology outpatient services will also be transferred to the minor centers of Marsica.
“Despite the rigid building typology and the obsolescence of the Avezzano hospital”, declares the manager Testa, “the logistic review action took place quickly and yesterday, by virtue of the changes introduced, halved the number of patients in the emergency room awaiting hospitalization ”
