Average price of a new house in the second quarter above 500,000 euros | Economy

An average of € 518,000 was paid for a new home in the second quarter, an increase of 16.9 percent over the previous year. This is the first time that the price of a new construction has exceeded 5 tonnes on average, the Dutch land registry and statistics reported on Tuesday.

Existing home ownership also became significantly more expensive between early April and late June (18.4%).

Statistics Netherlands also looked into the real estate market of other EU Member States. Of the other 26 EU countries, there are 4 where houses have risen in price faster than with us. The biggest advantage was in Estonia (27%), followed by the Czech Republic and Hungary (both 23%).

Statistics Netherlands and cadastre data therefore refer to the second quarter. Last week, the NVM real estate association already released prices for the third quarter. This showed that house prices fell in that period compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the third quarter of 2021, there is still a slight increase.
