Three years after leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans recently revealed how much weight he’s lost since stepping down as Captain America.
After 8 years of loyal service in the Captain America costume and 9 appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans passed the torch (and the shield) to Anthony Mackie at the end of Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
Since then, the actor has continued his career, and has lost a few pounds. Indeed, while he had undergone intensive training to be able to embody the super-soldier on the screen for several years, Evans allowed himself to spend a little less time in the weight room.
While he will lend his voice to Buzz Lightyear in the next feature film from Pixar Studios (in theaters next week), he recently reflected on this physical change, when journalist Kevin Polowy asked him if leaving Captain America had freed him from a weight.
“It literally took a weight off me”replied the actor. “I’ve lost almost 7 kilos. Every time people see me like this, they ask me, ‘Are you okay? You’ve lost some weight.’ Yeah, I didn’t need to go to the gym so much.”
Chris Evans also took the opportunity to return to his experience within the big Marvel family: an adventure that will have meant a lot to him, and which he misses since his departure:
“It’s different. For 10 years, you always have a movie in the making. You finish one, and then [il y en a un suivant]. Your life is planned: 6 months of press, 6 months on the next film… In the fact of taking off, there are certain things which are pleasant, and others which I really miss. Because it was a role that meant a lot to me. I really liked these people. These ten years will forever remain the best of my professional life, without a doubt.”
While he will be appearing in Buzz Lightyear next week, Chris Evans already seems to have taken off again, continuing a nice journey that will have led him to the Infinity Stones… and beyond. of the !
