Avengers Endgame: this cut scene makes the Battle of New York a lot less heroic

You’re not going to watch the Battle of New York the same way anymore!

The battle for New York in the movie The Avengers marked a turning point in the MCU. It indeed represents the culmination of plans from the studios that introduced the original six Avengers since 2008. This epic and heroic sequence has, however, a little lost in credibility because of a cut scene from the film Avengers Endgame (that you can find just here). As the remaining heroes view footage of the Battle of New York City, Rocket is interested in the conditions of this fight and asks them how long they fought the Chitauri. What Natasha Romanoff responds to for two or three hours, which does not fail to amaze the Guardian of the Galaxy.

He insists that the Chitauri are the worst army in the galaxy and all that was needed was to detonate their mothership, a detail that the Avengers did not know at the time. The answer is not long in coming, Rocket openly laughs at them and ends up having part of his head shaved by Tony Stark. It’s interesting that even the infamous Battle of New York City may not be as glamorous as it has been thought and is not immune to mockery. Above all, Rocket’s remark once again helps to show the Avengers that they still have a lot to discover and learn. If you miss the one the god of thunder calls my rabbit, don’t worry, you should find him playing Thor 4, Love & Thunder, alongside the other Guardians of the Galaxy.
