Avatar: The Way of Water has raised more than 2 billion dollars (more than 1.8 billion euros) worldwide. It is the sixth film ever to have raised so much money, the American entertainment website reports Variety.
Movies that preceded the second Avatar movie are Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Titanic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Avengers: Infinity War. Three movies from the list, the two Avatar movies and Titanicare from director James Cameron.
In mid-January, Disney announced that The Way of Water since its release on December 14 in the Netherlands has raised about 21.2 million euros. At that time, a total of about one and a half million people in the Netherlands had gone to the cinema to see the film.
