Earlier today, AC Ajaccio went to eliminate Châteauroux on Tuesday (2-0) and will play in Lyon on the weekend of February 8-9.
René Girard’s Paris FC dismissed Le Havre from coach Paul le Guen (1-0). Then two matches changed during penalties, with the winners at the end of the suspense Amiens in Dunkirk (3 tab to 2) and especially Rodez to Pau (8 tab to 7).
Four meetings this Wednesday
Ligue 2 clubs make their entry this week in a Coupe de France in an unprecedented format because of Covid-19. The 104th edition was split into two routes which will meet at the round of 16 stage: amateurs on the one hand, whose competitions remain suspended, and the L1 and L2 teams on the other. Of the twenty L2 teams opposed Tuesday and Wednesday, half will reach the 32nd finals to find L1 formations.
On Wednesday, Clermont and Grenoble, respectively 3rd and 5th in L2, will challenge each other at an unusual time (13:45) and the winner will face AS Monaco in the 32nd final. The Toulousains, current dolphins of Troyes, will welcome the Niortais and two former residents of L1, Guingamp and Caen, will compete in the evening for the honor of meeting Paris SG, title holder, in February.
