“Three women against the brutal methods of Laurent Wauquiez”. The ecologist Fabienne Grébert, the socialist Najat Vallaud-Belkacem and the communist Cécile Cukierman announced Monday that they would make a common list and program to try to dislodge the outgoing LR president from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Faced with the tidal wave Wauquiez, which obtained 43.8% of the votes in the first round, the three left candidates “united, proud and determined”, see themselves as “alternative” to escape a second term of the head of file LR, big favorite of the second round.

“We have a great responsibility, that of bringing together for a positive alternative to the solutions of the past and to hatred, that of carrying a project for the future for ecology, social justice and democracy, that of facing up to the far right now embodied by Laurent Wauquiez, “said Ms. Grébert, reading a joint statement to the press in Lyon.

“The hour is serious and in the face of predatory logic (…), in the face of withdrawal into oneself, we embody hope”, she insisted.

On the evening of the first round, Mr. Wauquiez largely distanced the candidate EELV (14.4%), arrived in front of the RN Andrea Kotarac (12.3%), the socialist Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (11.4%) and the communist Cécile Cukierman (5.5%).

LREM Bruno Bonnell, not qualified for the second round (9.87%), announced that he would not merge with any list.

Ecology, social justice and democracy will be the main lines of the common program of the three candidates under development, and the latter have already agreed to “reconcile ecology, economy and employment”.

“In view of this democratic shock that is abstention, we must above all act to show that there is no inevitability,” added Ms. Grébert, calling on voters to mobilize in the second round.

“Each bulletin is a weapon of resistance and a seed of hope. Sunday, June 27, no voice should be missing!”, She added.

For his part, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem insisted on the need to address all voters, in particular those whose candidates did not pass the first round. “The alternative to Laurent Wauquiez is us. We hope to convince them on the need for an alternative but also on the quality of our program,” said the PS candidate.

“This vote is useful, because whatever happens on Sunday, it is the future of our region that is being built for the years to come,” continued Ms. Cukierman, calling for “to ensure that diversity des Auvergnats and Rhône-Alpins be represented in the regional hemicycle “.

The three candidates announced that they were preparing to campaign together, including Tuesday in Lyon, Wednesday in Auvergne and Thursday in Grenoble.
