“They are the first refugees from the war in Ukraine to arrive on Aedui land. Thank you to everyone who was able to help them along the way and who prepared their arrival here in Autun in record time. We know that other Autun families from Ukraine have relatives who are on their way or trying to get out of the country, ”wrote Vincent Chauvet, mayor of Autun, in a Facebook post announcing the arrival of a Ukrainian family in his city.
The mayor also indicates that the City will bring together associations, institutional partners and “all people of good will” in order to prepare the reception of these families in the best conditions “as we were able to do recently with Syrian war refugee families and Iraqis”.
