Autumn reading begins with the Offenbach Book Festival

The days are getting shorter and reading enthusiasts can slowly look forward to cozy and captivating evenings in their own four walls.

The annual book festival in Offenbach, which invites you to the city center on Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th, provides suggestions for reading. In addition to the readings, there will be a discussion on the topic of consumption and sustainability. For this reason, the book festival is this year in the new weather and climate workshop in the Offenbach city center.

Last year, the evening was introduced to a current discourse and this year it is about the topic of sustainability and how new paths can be taken and what drives people to consume in the first place. Annette Kehnel provides information with her book “We could also be different”. A short history of sustainability that provides a historical perspective that looks back to today and Carl Tillessen with his book “Consumption – Why We Buy What We Don’t Need”, which takes a psychological look at consumer habits. As usual, readings by four authors will take place on Sunday, who will present their works and usher in the autumn reading. Those interested are invited to browse over coffee, cake and other delicacies.

Attending the readings is free of charge. However, as part of the pandemic protection measures, the number of visitors may be restricted. Visitors must either be vaccinated, recovered or tested (not older than 24 hours), otherwise they will not be able to take part in the readings.
