Both young artists get a chance to create new performances at next year’s Patriarch’s Autumn Festival.

The festival program this year stood out with a glorious “harvest” of diploma works from 2021, with 7 theater and 10 contemporary dance performances starting in the festival. Participants were judged by three festival juries – theater, contemporary dance and a student jury. The theater art jury consisted of the festival’s patroness Karina Pētersone, actress Ausma Kantāne, as well as directors Edmunds Freibergs, Valdis Lūriņš and Gatis Šmits. In theatrical art, the main prize – a kerosene lamp from the Peter Peterson collection – was awarded to Klāvs Kristaps Košins for the play “Conclave”. You will still be able to watch the show Dirty Deal Teatro repertoire. The Best Actress award at the festival was given to the young actress of Daile Theater Katrīna Griga for the title role in the show “Blanche. The White Forest ”(dir. Mihails Gruzdovs), while the best actor – the young actor of the Liepāja Theater Valts Skujs for his role in the play“ Cruel Games ”(dir. Dmitrijs Petrenko).

Already this weekend, from October 15 to 17, the satellite event of the festival or guest performances in Gulbene region will take place. In Gulbene Culture Center and Stāmeriena Castle it will be possible to watch four performances created by young artists, including the winners of the festival – performances “Konklāvs” (dir. KK Košins), “Elaeis Guineensis” (hor. R. Levane), “Aistēti” ” (hor. Roberta Gailīte) and “Senior” (dir. Andris Zeļonka).
