Autumn Letters Station Launches in La Rinconada with Focus on Youth and Creativity

First teniente de alcalde and delegate of culture Raquel Vega noted that literary expression functions as the main station for the creative city project, pointing to an autumn roster defined by interdisciplinary hibridación.
Mayor Javier Fernández emphasized during the presentation at the Sendero de la Creación in Dehesa Boyal park that the initiative has solidified into a strategic pillar for the region.
Award Recipients and International Presence
The festival opened with the presentation of the Premio Factoría Creativa Nacional de las Letras to writer Salvador Gutiérrez Solís.
Internationalization remains a core pillar of the 2026 autumn program through a collaboration with Centroamérica Cuenta. This partnership brings ten international authors to Spain to discuss language, literature, music, poetry, journalism, and justice, with stops spanning Seville, Madrid, and Barcelona. Additional high-profile literary figures featured in the lineup include Paloma Sánchez-Garnica, Fernando Repiso, Ana Morales, Esther Regueira, María Rosal, and May Ayamonte.
Youth Engagement and Interdisciplinary Programming
The autumn iteration heavily targets educational environments and young audiences through a dedicated Ciclo de Novela Juvenil coordinated by Salvador Gutiérrez Solís. This strand includes participation from authors Pablo Gutiérrez, May Ayamonte, and Daniel Blanco. Furthermore, students will engage in Encuentros en la Escena, connecting directly with actors and dramaturgos participating in local cultural center performances.
The theatrical schedule revisits historical and literary classics, highlighting works such as Lope Exprés, Los guardianes del verso, Inés de Ulloa, and Federico García Lorca’s Poeta (perdido) en Nueva York.
Exploring Historical Memory and Contemporary Social Issues
The cultural schedule also features specialized programming through Espacio Violeta. Journalist Ana Morales presents her editorial project Estado civil: cansada, focusing on women’s wellbeing over a multi-decade career. In parallel, art historian and researcher Esther Regueira leads a seminar titled Mujeres del 27, centering on the female artists, poets, and thinkers of the Generation of 27 often referred to as Las Sinsombrero.
As La Rinconada continues to expand its cultural footprint through events like the Campus Internacional de Periodismo Cultural and tributes to classical poetry, the municipality solidifies its reputation as a vibrant southern hub for literature and the arts.
